The spacer bolts to the front half of the head, and then the rear half bolts to the spacer. This mod uses the 4 original 8 mm socket head cap screws and 4 hex head bolts, 8 mm x 35 mm. I've got a G0704 mill and was planning on building a Hoss conversion but never got around to it. I've been thinking of just ponying up for a CNCFusion kit (includes ball screws). The one thing I don't like about it is the Z axis motor mount only takes a NEMA 23 motor. I haven't look at it too hard, it's possible it could be adapted to NEMA 34.
