MCCR is a compact, cutting-edge hot strip mill system for the stable and efficient production of ultra-thin materials. The full endless rolling* 1 capability of the facility is achieved by integrating pre-processed continuous thin-slab casting with a hot strip rolling process.
The Hot Strip Mill was restarted in July of 2018 under JSW management, and rolled purchased slabs to begin offering hot roll product into the market. The EAF/Slab caster was started up in December of 2018 and thus began to offer melted and manufactured in the USA to it's customer base.

ArcelorMittal South Africa's Hot Strip Mill products normally range in thickness from 1,4mm, to 16mm and in width from 800 mm to 1 925 mm.
