STEEL MELT SHOP ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE. The next step of our process is the melting and alloying of the scrap. The carefully chosen scrap mix is first melted in our 70 ton, eccentric bottom tapping type EAF. The melt is then transferred to one of our two ladle furnaces for alloying. Finally, the ladle is then vacuum degassed one of our two VD units.
